BusinessVision migration

BusinessVision retires December 31, 2026.

Sage is ending all support, updates and payroll patches for BusinessVision. Spire was built by the original BusinessVision team to replace it, and we will move you across with your history intact.

No more payroll updates

After the final 2026 patch, BusinessVision payroll stops being updated. T4s, ROEs and compliance fall on you.

No security patches

No bug fixes, vulnerability patches or operating-system compatibility updates. The software freezes in time.

No support

Sage will not answer calls about BusinessVision after December 31, 2026.

The process

Four steps, 6–10 weeks.

  1. 011–2 weeks

    Assessment

We audit your BusinessVision setup: modules, users, integrations, custom reports and data volume. You get a migration plan and a fixed-price quote.

  2. 021–2 weeks

    Conversion

Spire’s conversion tool brings across your chart of accounts, customers, vendors, inventory, open orders and full transaction history.

  3. 032–4 weeks

    Configuration

Spire set up for your workflows: permissions, custom fields, report formats, integrations and add-ons.

  4. 041–2 weeks

    Go-live

Parallel run, training, final sync and cutover. We stay with you through your first month-end close.

Common questions

Will I lose my transaction history?+

No. Spire’s conversion migrates current and historical data, including GL transactions, AR/AP history, sales and purchase history, and open orders. That is the biggest advantage over Sage’s own migration paths.

My BusinessVision still runs. Do I have to move?+

It will keep running, but there will be no updates after December 2026, including payroll and tax changes. After that, compliance is your responsibility.

What does Spire cost?+

It depends on edition and user count. We build a complete, fixed-price quote during the assessment.

What about my Crystal Reports?+

Crystal Reports work with Spire. Many BusinessVision reports can be adapted to the Spire schema, and we handle report migration as part of the project.

Can I see Spire with my own data first?+

Yes. We can convert a copy of your data into a demo environment so you see your own information in Spire before you commit.

What if I need things BusinessVision never had?+

Spire includes production (BOMs and work orders), service management and a full REST API, and our apps add AI order entry, AP automation and analytics on top.
